The Princeton Energy Plant is a district energy facility that provides electricity, steam, and chilled water to power, heat, and cool the buildings on the Princeton University campus. The creation of the plant and the continuous refinement of its operation have had a very positive impact on Princeton's carbon footprint.
California's Solar One/Two plant produced 10 MWe for a few years. Abengoa’s Solucar complex in Spain has the 11 MWe PS10 power tower plant with 624 mirrors, each 120 m2 and the 20 MWe PS20 adjacent, with 1255 mirrors, producing steam directly in the tower. Solucar also has three parabolic trough plants of 50 MW each.
